Search & Rescue Training Specialist

William (Billy) Chrimes, has grown up in the Fire, EMS and Search & Rescue community.  He began as a volunteer at a young age alongside his father, Harold Chrimes, with Triangle Rescue Group in the 1980’s as a Junior instructor teaching Rope Rescue and Cave Rescue classes.  Billy also began serving as a volunteer EMT and firefighter as a teenager.  Billy has served in the U.S.Coast Guard as well as held positions as a Deputy Sheriff, Firefighter, Medic and Fire Rescue Captain.

Billy is currently employed by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management and serves as the Search and Rescue Training Specialist and Deputy Search and Rescue Coordinator.  In addition to his duties operationally for the coordination of Search and Rescue incidents, Billy is responsible for updating and administering the Search and Rescue Training Program and its staff of 32 Adjunct Instructors.
